Typically, taking dogs on air travel is a stressful task as different airlines have different policies for pet travel.

With that in mind, BARK, a company for dog toys, is partnering with a jet charter service to eliminate the challenges of long-distance travel with dogs, according to a statement.

The BARK Air service offers the “typical first-class experience of a human and redirects all these perks to the dogs”.

“We’re excited to leverage the insights we’ve gained over the years to create an experience that truly prioritizes dogs, which is drastically different from just accepting dogs – from the ground to the sky,” said Matt Meeker, co-founder and CEO of BARK, in a statement.

However, you’ll have to shell out a high fee for the dog flight. For now, a one-way ticket for just one dog and one human will cost at least $6,000.

The first flights of BARK Air will take off on May 23 and so far, there are only two flight routes available, both departing from Westchester County Airport in New York.

A one-way ticket from New York to Stansted Airport in London will cost $8,000 and to Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles will cost $6,000. Tickets will be available for purchase starting April 11.
